Hélène Nepomiatzi

With a background in arts and crafts, fashion and leatherworking, Hélène Nepomiatzi is also creating design. Born in Paris in 1965, she studied at Studio Berçot and started her career in the world of luxury goods, for which she designed accessories. Passionate about working with leather, the artist has never ceased to twist its uses during her years of experience with Hermès, Céline, and Karl Lagerfeld.

Constantly striving for amazement, her approach invites playfulness as much as it values know-how. Accompanied by her eponymous studio, the artist reuses the vocabulary of leather goods through her design pieces made from colorful calfskin leather sourced from local distribution channels.

For Hélène Nepomiatzi, letting go is the only way to give birth to authentic, spontaneous creations, freeing herself from codes to revisit form and function.

Her Pompom lamps, presented at Private Choice 2023, has a brass base sheathed in leather and hidden by two-tone fringes. Taking the look of the famous pompom on handbags, the oversized format gives a feeling of satisfaction, generated by the movement and light effects passing through the leather curtain.
