Rero

French artist born in 1983, he lives between Sao Paulo and Paris. He studied economics and sociology.

He uses rhetoric to give his vision of the world according to an immediately recognizable typology, with words in crossed out capital letters. Rero‘s work is not a simple literary intervention in urban spaces nor an academic exercise of pure rhetorical reflection on collective morality. It is rather the public use of a typical process of conceptual art residing in a weaving between image and word able to produce at the end a collective reading, an invitation to a mental training.

He has chosen the Verdana font because he wanted the most impersonal font as possible (different from graffiti, which seeks, on the contrary, to have very personalized calligraphies). He also wants through his crossed-out words to multiply the directions of reading: is it true? false? the opposite?

Rero est un artiste français né en 1983, il vit entre Sao Paulo et Paris. Il a étudié l’économie et la sociologie et n’a pas de formation en HDA.
