Le 33 Hosts Private Choice for its Tenth Anniversary
Le 33 in Marseille is a «non-profit» gallery directed by Isabelle Carta which welcomes Private Choice, founded by Nadia Candet, for a summer project on the occasion of its 10 years of artistic commitment on the contemporary scene.
3 artists: Malo Chapuy, Katia Jacquet and Barbara Carnevale
Le 33 is located at 33 rue Saint-Jacques in the traditional antique district of Marseille. The choice of Malo Chapuy to be exhibited at Le 33 is no accident. His small formats, the adoption of ancient techniques and their medieval aesthetic almost give the impression that they come from the reserves of an antique dealer in the district, like the rediscovery of one of these medieval treasures. His paintings are like enigmas, in addition to their anachronism they hide a multitude of details that are revealed to the eyes of the attentive spectator.
Malo Chapuy, Katia Jacquet have each worked on the theme of the photographs of the couple formed by Bernd & Hilla Becher. And Barbara Carnevale refines the subject by extending the space.

Presentation of unpublished works by Brankica Zilovic + 30 artists across 14 exhibition rooms
…from Rue Saint-Jacques to the Saint-Jacques hill in Cavaillon
« The starting point of the exhibition is a love trauma. That of an 8-year-old child tripping over a Gallo-Greek amphora and picking up a perfectly preserved Roman glass vase at the foot of a uprooted tree, on the Saint-Jacques hill in Cavaillon. Fascinated by these two antique objects, by their origin and their function, impressed by their state of preservation after 2000 years of existence… he continues to collect shards all around Cavaillon with his bicycle and notebooks of notes and drawings. He ends up knocking on the door of Abbot Joseph Sautel in Vaison la Romaine, then of Sylvain Gagnière, an important archaeologist and future curator of the Palais des Papes in Avignon. » O. Morand
