Esther IMARD

Born in January 2000, the artist spent her childhood immersed in the world of theater. She joined the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 2018, where she was successively trained by François Boisrond, Djamel Tatah, and then Bruno Perramant. Under their guidance, she developed a figurative artistic approach.

Her painting is understood as a work on light, like the figure that appears on photographic film thanks to strong exposure to light, or a silhouette of an actor who emerges on stage under the glare of the spotlight. A matte black background, almost nothingness, forms the basis from which she develops her representation. Through this technique, light emanates from the subject itself, giving life and substance to the figure.

Like a photographic snapshot, her oil paintings depict simple presences, instants of life recounted without any narrative ambition. Escaping any preconceived storytelling, these faces invite the audience to instrospect and permit total liberty of interpretation.
