Vincent Lamouroux

Vincent Lamouroux, born in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, lives and works in Paris. He graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2002 with congratulations of the jury. Vincent Lamouroux’s work is positioned between sculpture and architecture, in a relationship to space and movement that he describes as « ascending » in the real and philosophical sense.

Between past, present, and future, he dialogues with utopias, art history and architecture. Through his creations, he questions our times, the worrying virtualization of the world and the attention deficit.

His Orbis bookcase, created in collaboration with ColAAb, a publishing house founded by Aurélie Sarallier, aims to reconnect with time, with books, “with a special kind of attention”.  We can play with this circular bookcase, whose modular shelving units can be assembled like a tower. Vincent Lamouroux proposes several forms/sculptures made up of several units, made for an owner who will be “the player of the form he chooses to create“. It can evolve over time, sometimes even taking on the role of a seat. Like a comforting bulwark, the bookcase offers readers a place conducive to silence and circulation of ideas.

Presentation based on a text by Pascale Le Thorel for ColAAb.
