Barthélémy Toguo

Born in 1967 in Cameroon, lives and works today between Paris and Bandjoun in Cameroon. His work has been developing since the early 90s through multiple media: photography and video at first, then performance, watercolor and sculpture. With, in turn, humor, provocation and poetry, Toguo tackles themes that are dear to him such as politics and migratory flows, be they human or commercial.

The Carpe Diem ring, edited by the gallery MiniMasterpiece in 2013, is Barthélémy Toguo’s very first piece of jewelry. It is inspired by his famous wooden carved stamps and echoes his research on questions of identity and control.
