Corps à corps: Silvère Jarrosson from dance to painting
The film En Corps, released last March, immerses the viewer in the story of the convalescence of Élise, a 26-year-old classical dancer forced to abandon her career following an injury. The delicate approach to this slow reconstruction evokes the raw sensitivity that director Cédric Klapisch had already shown in his films l’Auberge Espagnole (2002) and Ce qui nous lie (2017), follows her reconstruction with sensitivity and delicacy. The feature film is an ode to the body, an invitation to overcome its bruises and reinvent oneself through the discovery of a new creative impulse.
The film resonates with the journey of the visual artist Silvère Jarrosson, 29 years old and a member of our 2022 selection – whom you will find in the « Artists » section in a few weeks. Like Élise, Silvère had to stop his career as a dancer at the Paris Opera following an injury. Like Élise, Silvère chose to stay in the field of creation to build his recovery. It is through painting that he reinvented himself, taking up gestures from a deep knowledge of his own body. Like a choreography, his canvases are a happy blend of the precision of movement and the random event of the genesis of a composition.
