Another Dinner Party

For its anniversary edition, Private Choice presents 10 plates by the New York artist Luisa Maisel.

The narrative thread of her series Another Dinner Party is reminiscent of Judy Chicago's "The Dinner Party", a work created between 1974 and 1979, now housed in the Brooklyn Museum. Luisa Maisel offers her contemporary interpretation of the installation by dedicating a plate to each female artist who has touched and inspired her, and whom she wishes to highlight.

Her work also echoes the banquet imagined by Jean-Michel Basquiat, whose plates were recently presented at the Louis Vuitton Foundation during the exhibition "Basquiat x Warhol, Painting Four Hands" from April 5 to August 28, 2023.
