An internationally renowned Argentine artist, Leandro Erlich is known for his immersive installations that blur the lines between reality and illusion. Through works inspired by familiar architectural elements—swimming pools, elevators, staircases, windows, and facades—he transforms everyday life into a space for perceptual experimentation.

His iconic work, *Swimming Pool*, presented at the Venice Biennale in 2001 and later installed permanently at the Kanazawa Museum in Japan, perfectly illustrates his approach. By subverting the appearance of an ordinary swimming pool, the artist invites visitors to question what they think they see. Through trompe-l’œil, reflections, and plays on scale, everyone becomes both a participant in the work and an observer of others.

More than just an optical illusion, Leandro Erlich’s work explores our relationship to reality, space, and the conventions that shape our perception. By transforming the viewer into a participant, he turns the artwork into a collective experience that reveals the often-invisible mechanisms of how we inhabit the world.
