In 2000, Jean-Michel Othoniel responded to his first public commission and, a century after Hector Guimard, transformed the Palais Royal – Musée du Louvre Parisian metro station into the Kiosque des Noctambules: a double crown of glass and aluminum concealing a bench, intended for chance encounters in the sleeping city. Presented at Private Choice, his Lampes perles (Pearl Lamps) echo this iconic creation.
