Vincent LAMOUROUX

Vincent Lamouroux was born in 1974 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye and graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2002 with honors from the jury. From Paris, the artist creates a dialogue between sculpture and architecture, creating a relationship that he describes as "ascensionnel" in both the real and philosophical sense.

Between past, present and future, he dialogues with utopias, the history of art and architecture. Through his creations, he questions our era, the disturbing "virtualization of the world" and the "attention deficit" that accompanies it.

His Orbis library, created with the complicity of ColAAb, a publishing house founded by Aurélie Sarallier, aims to reconnect with time, with books, "with a form of particular attention." This library, whose modular shelves can be assembled like a circular tower, is played entirely or partially.

Vincent Lamouroux proposes several forms/sculptures composed of a certain number of modules, he thus imagines an owner who would become "the actor of the form he chooses to generate". It can indeed evolve over time, sometimes taking on the role of a seat. Like a reassuring rampart, the library offers the reader a place conducive to silence and the circulation of ideas.
