Vincent Lamouroux

Vincent Lamouroux was born in Saint-Germain-en-Laye in 1974, and graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2002 with the highest honors. Since Paris, the artist has been bringing sculpture and architecture into dialogue, creating a relationship he describes as "ascensional" in both the real and philosophical sense.

Between past, present and future, he dialogues with utopias, art history and architecture. Through his creations, he questions our times, the worrying "virtualization of the world" and the "attention deficit" that accompanies it.

His library Orbis bookcase, created with the help of ColAAb, the publishing house founded by Aurélie Sarallier, aims to reconnect with time, with books, "with a form of special attention". The bookcase, whose modular shelves can be assembled like a circular tower, can be played in full or in part.

Vincent Lamouroux proposes several forms/sculptures composed of a number of modules, and imagines an owner who becomes " the actor of the form he chooses to generate ". It can evolve over time, sometimes taking on the role of a seat. Like a reassuring bulwark, the library offers readers a place conducive to silence and the circulation of ideas.

Presentation based on a text by Pascale Le Thorel for ColAAb.
