Sebastian Herkner

Among the European stars of German design, his name keeps cropping up at trade shows and in collections. A symbol of a new generation with a penchant for all forms of craftsmanship. He wins the EDIDA prize for "Designer of the Year" (2021).

Born in Bad Mergentheim in March 1981, Sebastian Herkner graduated from the Offenbach Design Academy in 2006, where he settled and founded his studio in 2006. Sebastian Herkner retains an innate sense of essential, original values. As well as being a perfect playground, his adopted city (the center of Germany's leather industry) speaks to his sense of roots. And to his desire to celebrate memory and observation through his creations.
