PINTO X PILATI
In his residence in Southern Italy, Stefano Pilati reworked oversized sofas and armchairs, on which straw mats and water hyacinth braids are draped or simply thrown. This idea caught the attention of PINTO and inspired the creation of a sculptural armchair designed from the apparent simplicity of Stefano's "gestures".
Playing on the contrast between the initial gesture, made with simple, malleable, and ephemeral materials (rattan, water hyacinth braids, straw), and the unalterable material that is bronze.
Playing with scales, Stefano Pilati and Fahad Hariri have designed an oversized rug to adorn this armchair, creating a powerful silhouette: a furniture-sculpture. To achieve this, the castings are made using the lost-wax process by a team of artisans, each with its unique patina. This bronze armchair-sculpture is produced in a limited edition of eight pieces.
Among the main projects designed by the PINTO agency are the salons of the Élysée Palace in Paris, the Odéon Tower in Monaco, the Lanesborough in London, Marella Agnelli's house in Marrakech, and the Hôtel Lambert in Paris.
