Pascal MESTROM

Pascal Mestrom was born in 1972. He currently lives and works in Maastricht, where he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 1996. From 1999, he worked as an art dealer and antique dealer. In 2004, he specialized in the acquisition of chandeliers, which he restores and studies in depth. In 2019, he began creating his own chandeliers, creations he calls Inventions.

Pascal Mestrom's chandeliers are transformed into contemporary candelabras, sometimes borrowing their structure from the 17th century, sometimes the finesse of their glass and metal structure from artistic craftsmanship. His chandeliers are similar to artificial still lifes, linking the past and the present.

The combination of crystal, opaline and Murano glass is as intriguing as the alliance of iron, bronze and brass. A daring assembly of shapes and bolts, for a reference that could almost be described as steampunk... Everything is there to make Inventions, his asymmetrical and eclectic compositions, into veritable suspended sculptures.
