PARSA edition
Shiva Shayan and Thomas Vlach
The publishing house PARSA, founded in 2020, was born from the meeting between Shiva Shayan, a publisher of Iranian origin, and the French designer Thomas Vlach. This cross-border project draws its essence from a shared passion for furniture, craftsmanship and the raw beauty of minerals. Sourcing natural stone directly from Iranian quarries, PARSA embodies a unique alliance between tradition and contemporary design.
Once the world's cradle of craftsmanship, PARSA highlights the ancestral know-how perpetuated by Iranian artisans through their contemporary creations. Pieces of marble, granite, travertine, onyx and solid wood are enhanced, respecting their original form in order to reveal the beauty of the natural material.
For the Private Choice 2024 edition, the Hasht coffee table, made of solid white Karmania traonyx, will be unveiled. This piece with rounded lines is the result of a custom order. The polished stone, subtly translucent in places, retains its natural veins and irregularities, true testaments to its history.
The publishing house PARSA also produces objects: the Badavi bookends, granite objects with geometric shapes, or the Rochane table lamps in glazed ceramic, molded by hand, whose relief recalls progressive waves.
The Yazd bench features sharp angles. Its base in solid tinted oak, inspired by a radical architecture, is covered with a black basalt top with raw pores. Two Badguir stools will also be presented, both made of elm and natural oak with an oiled finish.
