Mickael Koska

Mickaël Koska is a French designer born in Marseille in 1987. Initially self-taught, he went on to train in traditional and contemporary cabinet-making at the École Boulle (Paris).

In Marseille, he draws on the light, energy, colors and shapes observed in nature to create objects with soft, clean lines. Create the sustainable, ethical and timeless objects and promote the know-how of French manufacturers and craftsmen - that's his vision.

He founded his studio and brand, KOSKA, in Marseille in 2013, whose credo is reasoned, short-circuit production. The pieces are most often made from recycled materialsThey have both a past and a present.

His work with cacti underscores what he calls "giving life to surprising natural creations". This lamp is the result of a meeting with a glassmaker in Marseilles.

"We design, imagine and keep the lines simple. We focus on the essentials, revealing form through the detail that makes design unique and timeless. We try to remain curious, naive and intuitive. All our production is French." - Mickaël Koska
