Lucile Piketty
Lucile Piketty was born to artist parents who introduced her to painting and art in general at an early age.
Lucile often likes to work serially, so that all the images she creates respond to each other. Painting, pastel, etching, the artist often works in these media at the same time when she begins a new series. Before starting an image, she always makes a sketch, drawing inspiration from her surroundings, everyday life, art history, photographs she takes, objects she collects... Then she starts painting, keeping her preparatory sketches and reference photographs to hand.
More than an artist, Lucile is a storyteller, creating exceptional atmospheres in which light plays a central role.
In The Players, Lucile Piketty depicts a game scene, Risk, which many of us have no doubt played before, awakening memories and recollections. The tight frame focuses on the game board, with hands moving their pawns around the geopolitical chessboard. Which player will win the game?
