Louis GRANET

Louis Granet decided to leave the world of comics behind to dedicate himself fully to acrylic and oil on canvas. This reflects a desire to break free from the format, style, and subject matter, even though his identity remains attached to the pop influences and flat colors typical of comics.

Immersing oneself in Louis Granet's world is like diving into the turquoise water of a swimming pool, which was the artist's wish for his solo exhibition at the art library of Pessac, entitled Merveilles ZONE.

Continuing this series exhibited in 2024, and with the same nostalgia for a Provençal summer spent by the sea, bucolic scenes follow one another. In the background, a sky or an ocean, and in the foreground, vegetation bordering on abstraction. In a romantic surge, his oversized tulips break free from the frame and contrast with the blue chromatics of the series. The subject is expanding, refusing timidity, and shouting its name.
