Laurent Pernot

Laurent Pernot fashions a polymorphous body of work in a variety of media: video, installation, photography, light and sculpture. His research is imbued with history, philosophy and poetry, and the interactions between man and nature are among his major themes.

His visual language is rooted in memory, images and words, which he explores through the experience of the flow of time, impermanence, the visible and the disappearing.

For the 2024 edition, Private Choice is highlighting its series of Still lifes. A variety of everyday objects seem to have remained frozen in a distant past, and we wonder whether they might have been plunged into eternal slumber by an ice age.
