Illya Goldman Gubin

I G G is a Berlin-based studio founded by Illya Goldman Gubin. Breaking down the boundaries between thought and feeling, science and mysticism, tradition and innovation, Gubin's installations focus on the complexity of human consciousness. The artist transforms everyday perceptions into multifaceted reflections, inviting viewers to think and feel.

In Karton, Gubin presents a selection of works that extend his resin experiments into design. Resin-coated cardboard structures are stiffened to become familiar childhood seats, fusing utility with nostalgia. These reinforced objects, evolving from 2020 prototypes, achieve structural integrity through playful experimentation.

The resin and fiberglass techniques bring the childlike imagination to life, transforming cardboard - usually associated with transience - into stoic domestic furniture. This transformation challenges perceptions: what once contained now supports, blurring the boundaries between inside and outside, past and present.

This artist is represented by CØR Studio, a unique creative space in the heart of Paris offering a minimalist setting for a variety of events. Functioning as a Design Collectionnable gallery, it hosts temporary exhibitions featuring innovative artists and objects with bold styles and exceptional craftsmanship.
