Hannes PEER

Hannes Peer heads his own architecture and design agency based in Milan. The studio's leitmotif is the pursuit of eclecticism and high-quality design, on various scales, through the meticulous study of architecture, historical context, and new technologies on the one hand, and craftsmanship and industrial production on the other. The vocabulary developed offers different layers of interpretation; it is eclectic and combines poetic vision and rigor. The agency's projects are identifiable by their strong iconographic identity, nourished by constant research around colors and materials and by the interpenetration of different contemporary languages.

MarminiI II, a stool designed in collaboration with the La Chance studio and presented at Private Choice, is, despite its minimalist architectural appearance, a very comfortable upholstered stool. The three volumes that compose it do not seem able to hold together: the two massive Fior di Pesco marble elements seem to want to detach from the soft, upholstered central part. The three triangular shapes are held together by a complex internal system that creates this very compact and theatrical final form. Here, too, we find the principle of play and tension between form and function.
