Eva Medin
Eva Medin is a visual artist and video-maker whose work focuses on short films, light installations and contemporary choreography. Playing with sound, light and spatial effects, Eva Medin's work often evokes a dark, mysterious atmosphere with futuristic contours.
Growing up in Brazil, she was immersed in the world of cabaret and silent performance (her father was a mime), and was influenced from an early age by this way of telling stories through body language. Her approach is rooted in a certain ecology of thought, where the idea of transmission, relationships and the interweaving of individuals and the world are paramount.
Eva Medin deploys a vocabulary as effective as a haiku and its effects of extreme condensation. The aesthetics of her works, which borrow from pop culture and science fiction, also enable her to "fictionalize the real in order to think it through", producing speculative or anticipatory narratives that encourage us to envisage the possible.
