Eva MEDIN
Visual artist and videographer, Eva Medin is mainly dedicated to the production of short films, light installations and contemporary choreographies. Alternately playing on the effects of sound, light and spatiality, Eva Medin's work often reflects a dark and mysterious atmosphere with futuristic contours.
During her childhood in Brazil, she was immersed in the world of cabaret and silent performance (her father was a mime) and she was very early influenced by this way of telling stories through body language. Her approach is rooted in a certain ecology of thought, where the idea of transmission, relationships and connections between individuals and the world prevails.
Eva Medin deploys a vocabulary as effective as a haiku and its effects of extreme condensation. The aesthetics of her works borrow from pop culture and science fiction also allow her to "fictionalize reality to better think about it", by producing speculative or anticipatory stories that encourage us to consider possibilities.
