Charles KALPAKIAN

Charles Kalpakian was born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1982. He launched his design studio in 2011. He draws his inspiration from his French and Lebanese origins, as well as from street art culture. These diverse influences take shape through the reinterpretation of motifs from the decorative arts, inherited from the history and geography of Lebanon. The designer's line is always sharp, while remaining flexible, like the curves drawn by a calligraphy pen.

His pieces highlight the richness of his origins, combined with elements of Western modernity. The Rocky series, designed for the publisher La Chance, demonstrates his aesthetic research.

Rocky is a sculptural sideboard. Its shape and niches allow it to accommodate books or to be used as the most graphic of shelves.
