Barthélémy Toguo
Born in Cameroon in 1967, he now lives and works between Paris and Bandjoun, Cameroon. Since the early 90s, Toguo's work has developed through a variety of media: photography and video at first, then performance, watercolor and sculpture. With humor, provocation and poetry, Toguo tackles themes that are dear to him, such as politics and migratory flows, whether human or commercial.
The Carpe Diem ring, published by MiniMasterpiece gallery in 2013, is Barthélémy Toguo's very first piece of jewelry. It is inspired by his famous wooden carved stamps and echoes his research into questions of identity and control.
