Anja MILENKOVIC

Graduating from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2024, Anja Milenkovic paints suspended, fragile worlds, haunted by absence yet inhabited. Her work, marked by great delicacy, gives shape to discreet figures - animals, flowers, body fragments - that act as messengers of an inner universe.

Through subtle painting, she explores vulnerability, grief and the power of emotions. Her canvases are sensitive refuges, imbued with a tenuous balance between softness and critical tension.

Inspired by Remedios Varo, Leonora Carrington and Apolonia Sokol, Anja Milenkovic's painting combines pain, spirituality and memory, without giving in to mysticism. She evokes hollow worlds, where the sensitive and the invisible converse, with the conviction that to paint is also to create a welcoming space for the other.
