Ambre HERVO

Based in Thouaré-sur-Loire, Ambre Hervo has been exploring the art of porcelain throwing for nearly fifteen years. A member of the Ateliers d’Art de France since 2019, she has developed a practice focused on the material, recently enriched by the use of “terre du Fuilet”—a local clay naturally rich in iron—and by wood-firing.

Her “Pottery for Helga” series draws on the generous volumes of traditional Korean vases, which she reinterprets in streamlined forms, sometimes pushed to the brink of breaking. Balancing masterful craftsmanship with the unpredictability of the kiln fire, each piece reveals the transformations of the clay, its tensions, and its imperfections. Ambre Hervo thus creates a language that is both minimalist and rich in contrast, where tradition and modernity converge in a sensitive exploration of time and the resilience of the material.
