Ugo SCHILDGE
Born in Paris in 1987, Ugo Schildge is a painter-sculptor who graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2014. His work lies at the intersection of painting and sculpture, combining natural pigments, wood, clay, and plaster on structured panels, often incorporating motifs inspired by nature.
Strongly influenced by his mentor Giuseppe Penone, Schildge develops a poetic and sensitive perspective on fauna, flora, and the relationship that humans have with their environment. After several years in New York, then in residence in Shanghai, and now back in Paris, he creates works where dystopian visions and promises of harmony coexist.
His pieces blur the boundaries between abstraction and figuration, sometimes incorporating mechanical elements reminiscent of industrial machinery. Through this dialogue between matter, movement, and image, Ugo Schildge questions the place of humans in the natural world, between the depletion of resources and the possibilities of a renewed balance.
