Rayan Yasmineh
Rayan Yasmineh is a painter who graduated from Villa Arson with honors and is in his second year of a Master's program at the Beaux-Arts de Paris.
Her work is marked by an alliance between an iconographic and historical background from her Persian origins and an imaginary world straight out of contemporary Western identity. In this sense, Rayan Yasmineh's paintings present a profusion of ornamental details and traditional pictorial techniques, while at the same time being split by the integration of signs from the modern world: "The expression of this dual iconography in my work is the manifestation of a plural identity, Arab and European, which breaks with the supposed adversity of the concepts of East and West." Rayan Yasmineh's entire body of work focuses on the concept of anachronism, and spreads out in sumptuous landscapes and vivid, shimmering colors for the pleasure of the viewer's eyes.
