Gaspard GRAULICH
Gaspard Graulich sees himself as an explorer designer. Born on Réunion Island in 1983, he studied industrial design at ENSAAMA Olivier de Serres in Paris, conceptual design at ESAD in Reims, and eco-design at the University of Science and Technology of Besançon.
From his childhood on Réunion Island to his experiences in the African, Australian, and American deserts, Gaspard Graulich has forged a strong connection with nature. He cherishes the feeling of surprise when faced with a landscape and the strong emotions that arise from it. These emotions are the starting point for his reflection on object design, which blends philosophy, mechanics, and a love of materials.
« Exploring the relationships between Man and Matter through objects » is his motto, constantly questioning the object, its meaning, its function, and its interactions. His work is refined, returning to the very essence of the object, which he seeks to deconstruct in order to better update it. His simplistic objects encourage questioning. From a quest for understanding that led him, from the age of 2, to dismantle everything that came into his hands, Gaspard is today a designer obsessed with the object, its meaning, its function, its reason for being, its interactions, which he seeks to deconstruct in order to better update it.
- Presence Series: the seat carries the memory of the person who touches and uses it; its history is apparent. The object is not inert; it is a living material.
- Megalyth Console: plaster cast made on the rocks of the Fontainebleau forest.
