Cedric BREISACHER

Designer-sculptor Cédric Breisacher develops an intuitive, organic approach to furniture. He sculpts solid wood by hand, in a quest for dialogue with the living, where the material guides as much as it resists.

Committed to a logic of circular productionhe also transforms his wood shavings into new objects: the Not Wasted series expresses this ecology of gesture nothing is lost, everything is recomposed. Cédric Breisacher transforms the shavings from his own sculptures into a new material, called Agglomera, a mixture of wood and starch glue.. Each piece is shaped on a solid wood structure, revealing the strata of a process rooted in time, place and gesture.

In collaboration with Valentine MAURICEa designer specializing in the impact of light on circadian circadian rhythmsCédric Breisacher imagines Eclipsea a walnut lamp equipped with a brass mechanism that reflects light into space. The light, projected by reflection onto a brass disc, draws a crescent moon shape. This beam reveals the metal's micro-cracks, invisible to the naked eye. Like a magnifying glass on the visible, Eclipse questions the way we perceive the world, making the invisible sensitive.
