Cedric BREISACHER

Designer-sculptor, Cedric Breisacher develops an intuitive and organic approach to furniture. He sculpts solid wood by hand, seeking a dialogue with the living, where the material guides as much as it resists.

Committed to a circular production approach, he also transforms his wood shavings into new objects: the Not Wasted series demonstrates this ecology of gesture, where nothing is lost, everything is recomposed. Cedric Breisacher transforms the shavings from his own sculptures into a new material, called Agglomera, a mixture of wood and starch glue. Each piece is shaped on a solid wood structure, revealing the layers of a process rooted in time, place, and gesture.

In collaboration with Valentine MAURICE, a designer specializing in the impact of light on circadian rhythms, Cedric Breisacher has created Eclipse, a walnut lamp with a brass mechanism that reflects light into the space. The light, projected by reflection on a brass disc, draws a crescent moon shape. This beam reveals micro-fissures in the metal, invisible to the naked eye. Like a magnifying glass placed on the visible, Eclipse questions our way of perceiving the world, making the invisible visible.
